3DPrint.com covered the story behind this unique creation and while just a proof of concept, it could easily be developed into an open source table-top industrial robot.
Could we be seeing similar robotic arms helping local businesses automate simple, repetitive tasks and help business owners better optimize their time? Could they be tending rooftop gardens or giving way to innovative computer controlled manufacturing yet to be democratized? Some have already tried to build their own. Only time will tell. Until then, marvel at Zortrax' creative and inspiring use of 3D printing.
